MARRAM Marketing & Productions owner Laurie Murphy started her sole-proprietor business in 2015. A specialist in the creation and execution of strategic marketing and communications/public relations campaigns, she helps companies and individuals build brand and awareness. She has provided marketing, communications and public relations work for a number of organizations, such as Pleiades Theatre, Project Bookmark Canada, Textile Museum of Canada, Gros Morne Summer Music, Love-In Dance Collective, and Future Tense. Murphy produces her own shows, such as the heritage award-winning Ebb & Flow: Tides of Settlement on PEI (with Amanda Mark), Wild Violets Soloist Showcases, Play in the Park Full-length Outdoor Shakespeare Plays (with Jason Rogerson & Dr. Shannon Murray), ImprovPEI and The HA Club.

Murphy is a national award-winning media relations practitioner, recognized for professionalism and grace under pressure. She has also received awards for her work in heritage, writing and direction.

For several years, Laurie served as a jury coordinator for the Canadian Public Relations Society National Awards for Excellence, and was host of the National Conference in 2018. In her volunteerism with CPRS, she has also served as Past President of the CPRS PEI Chapter and President Elect of the CPRS Ottawa-Gatineau Chapter.

Theatre is a passion for her, and she is looking forward to volunteering in stage management and assistant directing for the Benevolent Irish Society's upcoming production directed by Paul Whelan this Spring at the Irish Cultural Centre on North River Road, Charlottetown. She will again direct Ebb & Flow: Tides of Settlement on PEI (with music direction by Amanda Mark) in the Great Room of the historic Haviland Club on Haviland Street in Charlottetown.

My Beginnings

My Favorite Work

My Favorite Work

I am in love with the arts. I create and produce my own theatre, such as plays, comedy, improv, and music.   In my life and work, I have always known that creativity and artistry has to be at the core of everything I do.

Ensemble productions are my favourite work. Creating art for others to enjoy is especially rewarding. So is helping spread the good news of other artists, and  professional theatre organizations in Canada.

My Life Today

I'm very lucky to be doing what I love as my profession. Creating, producing or promoting the arts has allowed me to travel across Canada and meet interesting new people all the time.
